Welcome to D&S Care Homes

We provide residential homes where young people feel safe and are supported to make good choices in a happy and friendly environment. We work to maximise their potential right from initial contact, helping to ensure the placement is a success and prospects are enhanced. We have two homes for young people, Ty Cwmafan in Port Talbot and Ty Nedd in Neath. Both are situated centrally within small residential communities and enjoy close proximity to stunning beaches and rugged mountains – there is lots to offer right on our doorstep. Ty Cwmafan has three bedrooms and Ty Nedd has four with two en-suites. Both homes have large well equipped individual bedrooms and all have a seated study area, TV and a safe. We are happy for young people to help decorate their room to their taste as we want them to feel comfortable and at home. The lounges are spacious and comfy with televisions and facilities for games and internet access. Our homes have been purposely designed for young people between the ages of twelve and eighteen, who may be displaying emotional and/or behavioural difficulties and for various reasons are unable to reside at home. Our dedicated staff work to ensure that they are encouraged and rewarded for engaging fully in their planned futures involving either, education, training, work experience or paid employment. We will assist in preparing for independent living and adulthood after eighteen, encouraging young people to remain in higher education or engaged in paid employment. We use a variety of recognised techniques to engage with young people and our staff take part in continual professional development to ensure that they remain up to date with current practices. Some of these practices include working with young people to control self harm and injury and we recognise the extreme importance of encouraging and supporting each young person’s links with their families and friends. Both homes are just ten minutes from the main M4 junction, train and bus stations and the local bus service stops just outside each home. D&S Care Homes is registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).
